Footing poor. Cold. I seriously was contemplating maybe hanging up the shoes until spring.

1.5 WU // 5 tempo // .5 CD. Better than expected!
A few of you know that I am running the Eisenhower Marathon in Abilene, KS on April 6. At first glance, it may not be the smartest move to run a marathon 9 days before running Boston. The only reason I am running the Eisenhower is in hopes to qualify for the 2020 Boston Marathon. Then, I will run 2019 Boston 9 days later not 'racing', but just to finish the race. I wanted to qualify last month in Miami, but that chance was obliterated. My reasoning for choosing Eisenhower was that it is flat, I have run it before (my first marathon), and picking a race post Boston may not be a good idea as you get into summer and slower race times. And I didn't think I could qualify for Boston 2020 at Boston 2019 because the course is so tough.
Song of the day: "It's All Right" by the Impressions; written and lead vocal by the great Curtis Mayfield. What a joy it is to listen to the soulful vocals, the sweet horns, and guitar, bass and drums falling into a decidedly "non-metronome" swinging beat!

Started down the Keystone. But, N from Aksarben, it hasn't been cleared yet ... plus the city of Omaha dumped a mountain of snow, right on the trail.
So, we snowshoed in the parking lots & streets around Baxter.
Keystone, south, looked like it had possibly been plowed.
