Ponca State Park. Kept this one short knowing my friend was taking me hiking through the trails in the afternoon. Beautiful here. Ended up hiking about 4.5 miles in here, this park is close to home and I don't come here near enough!

In Phoenix and knee allowed me a nice run today in shorts!!! And I saw a scarlet tananger without a doubt but I’m a little perplexed because it’s not a common sighting in Phoenix. And the hotel has a resident kitty on the grounds! Xo

Song of the day: "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye" by the Casinos. I love the rich horn section here. Trumpet was my first instrument and unfortunately I have not kept up practice on it over the decades. I really wanted to record a few simple trumpet parts on my "Jubilee" CD, but I couldn't get an acceptable overall tone for the recording. Maybe next time.
